AI flooring takeoff software uses computer vision to automatically read architectural floor plans, identify individual rooms, calculate their square footage, and match each space to the correct flooring material — replacing the manual process of tracing plans by hand in a PDF viewer or CAD tool. The result is a complete material list and cost estimate, typically generated in minutes instead of hours.

How it differs from manual takeoffs

A manual takeoff requires an estimator to open a floor plan PDF, trace the boundary of every room by hand, cross-reference a legend to figure out which finish belongs where, and calculate area and cost room by room. For a large commercial bid set — sometimes 100+ pages — this can take a full day or more, and it's easy to miss a room or misread a legend code.
